Edyta Dzierż — artist, Doctor of Arts.
She creates at the intersection of painting, light, sound, and movement.
Her practice grows out of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied painting under Prof. Wiesław Kruczkowski, Prof. Marek Sapetto, and Prof. Marian Czapla. In parallel, she developed a specialization in mural techniques — mosaic, fresco, and sgraffito — in the studio of Prof. Edward Tarkowski, as well as sculpture in the studio of Prof. Gustaw Zemła.
She received her diploma in painting in the studio of Prof. Marian Czapla, with an annex in mural painting under Prof. Edward Tarkowski — completing the mosaic Transfiguration of the Lord for the Lower Altar of the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians in Warsaw (2004).
She holds the title of Doctor of Arts in the field of fine arts and conservation of works of art (Radom University).
Her work has been repeatedly recognized — she appears in the Compass of Young Art ranking by Rzeczpospolita (2008, 2010, 2012), has received awards in Poland and abroad (Czech Republic, England, India, USA), and in 2022 was honored with the Gold Badge of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP).
She creates and runs her own artistic space — Studio Sztuki EDYTA DZIERŻ in Warsaw’s Targówek district, a place dedicated to artistic practice, education, and performative work.
For many years, she has been an active contributor to Warsaw’s artistic community: she serves on the board of the Warsaw District of ZPAP, is a member of the international Artcom Expo association (Norway), and initiates interdisciplinary projects that connect various fields of art. She co-creates the groups Symfonia, Art Visual Dance, and Artinterference.
Founder and curator of the group Młodzi Sztuką (2012–2016).
Co-founder of PRACOWNIA 23 in Warsaw’s Praga district (2005–2025).
Initiator of the long‑running series Stan Rzeczywisty – Night Meetings with Artists (since 2014).
Organizer of the Power of Art project (2019/2020).
Creator and curator of the international project Eviva l’Arte, which she has been developing continuously since 2015.
She collaborates with musicians including Prof. Elżbieta Gajewska, Iwona Jędruch, Katarzyna Oczkowska, Tadeusz Sudnik, Sebastian Zusin, and Kosma.
She exhibits both individually and collectively in Poland and abroad.
Her works — paintings, live painting actions, and performances combining image–sound–light — explore the dialogue between the senses, the movement of color, the resonance of sound, and the presence of the human body within the creative process.
